welcome Patrice
O'Neill is known throughout the Pacific Northwest
for her beautiful voice and personal songwriting
style, as well as her work with the popular group
Mel Cooleys. Her wonderfully expressive vocals are
featured on her debut solo release, Elusive, which
offers original songs that present an extraordinary
view of an artist at the peak of her craft. Victory
Music Review has praised her "...expressive, yet
delicate phrasing"; Dan Roberts wrote about "...a
voice so pure and sweet that it could melt
rock..."; and Pandemonium reviewer Laura Horton
said "Patrice's voice is that of an angel - ; it
defines beauty, and demands your attention."
Patrice is also an amazing artist; all of the
artwork you see on the web site, the disc
packaging, and the accompanying songbook, are
Patrice O'Neill originals! For
sixteen years, Patrice has been Director of the
award winning Wintergrass festival which takes
place in Bellevue the last full weekend of February
annually. Every June, she also helps to direct the
Mandolin Symposium at the University of Santa Cruz
with David Grisman, Mike Marshall and other
exceptional instructors and players. In addition to all this, Patrice recently joned the group Uncle Bonsai. This popular trio is currently working on a new release, The Grim Parade, which is due out in October, 2010. Patrice has released one solo disc of original songs, Elusive, and her
recording with guitarist Hilary Field, a
collection of international lullabies called Siente:
Night Songs from Around the
World, won the Parents' Choice
Gold Medal, the NAPPA Gold Medal, the Creative
Child Seal of Excellence, the iParenting Media
Award, the Dove Foundation Award, and was
featured in Parenting Magazine. The duo recently finished recording the follow-up disc, Cantilena: Night Songs from Around the World, and will be doing a series of CD Release concerts in Fall, 2010. |
